Should the Yakima shooting be on here?
The perpetrator of the Yakima shooting killed three people at one location & killed himself, hours later, at another location. Wouldn't this qualify as a spree shooting instead of a mass shooting? Silent-Rains (talk) 02:55, 25 January 2023 (UTC)

Covenant School shooter
My opinion is that the fact that shooter attended this school as a child is relevant (and can be succinctly put); but that their gender identity is not relevant as far as this article goes. It’s a footnote at best in main article on shooting. Nick Levine (talk) 08:33, 30 March 2023 (UTC)

- We should at least put man. Cis or trans doesn't really matter but not saying a gender at all is weird when other shootings that mention who the perpetrator was do say a gender. TomCat4680 (talk) 09:39, 30 March 2023 (UTC)

If anyone wants to add mass shooting events listed in the chart to the map so it stays up to date and current, it can be found at Template:Map of United States mass shootings/2023. You can copy and paste previously used lines but make sure to have the correct location, date, and latitude and longitude, for each event you are listing. "shot" v. "injured"
An editor mass-changed all incidents of "shot" to "injured". I believe this is a mistake, as the term "injured" is ambiguous, whereas "shot" is not. While I would assume most injuries during a mass shooting are from being shot, history has shown that people can become injured in other ways during these events (crowds trampling people, people fleeing unsafely and hurting themselves, etc). In addition to being shorter, "shot" is just better for our readers. —Locke Cole • t • c 03:20, 4 October 2023 (UTC)

Shooting in November 2023
