Records of sei whales in south/north korean waters.[edit]

Hi. Sei whales generally avoid marginal seas such as the East China Sea, Yellow Sea, and Sea of Japan. I've never come across any definitive records of sei whales in Korean waters. In fact, the majority (if not all) of the sei whales caught off Japan and Korea (combined statistics) appear to have come from northeastern Honshu (Sanriku region), with all the other "sei whale" catches further to the southwest actually being misidentified Bryde's (see various papers by Omura). Anyone know of authentic records of the species off either North or South Korea? SHFW70 (talk) 23:16, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I actually found a few strandings and catch records in the region. SHFW70 (talk) 17:46, 19 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
