Woodchucks "introduced" to Alaska?[edit]

i met a biologist at the university in fairbanks who wrote a paper on marmots traveling by way of automobile undercarriage for potentially hundreds of miles at a time. seems they have an unusual resistance to antifreeze poisoning, and so sometimes they accidentally go along for a ride. he figured they spread north and west as the prairie was settled and the forest opened up. guess i'll have to look him up .... - Metanoid (talk, email) 04:49, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Various marmots have lived in Alaska for a very long time. Actual Woodchucks, I can't say I've ever heard of them being here. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:14, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
