Political science journals belong on this page[edit]

Every issue of the political science journals that were just deleted (Annual Review of Political Science, BJPS, POP, PRQ, CPS, R&P and so on) contains important international relations research. More IR scholars would publish in BJPS than the overwhelming majority of remaining journals on this page. If a journal regularly contains important IR research, I think it should belong on this page.

I also disagree that journals like 'International Politics' and 'European Security' are non-notable. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 16:49, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This journal was added in October 2007, removed in January 2011. It was added again in November 2013.

I just removed it again as it has a 0.000 impact factor (I also checked here) and so is not notable enough to go on the list. --The Vintage Feminist (talk) 16:58, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. I think most of the journals you deleted for being non-notable are by all metrics non-notable. I would quibble about Int Politics and European Security though Snooganssnoogans (talk) 17:00, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've restored International Politics, which I removed in error, it's clearly on JCR with an impact factor of 0.709 and 43 / 85 for international relations. I can't find anything for for European Security though? --The Vintage Feminist (talk) 17:31, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure about its impact factor. All I know is that it's considered a decent outlet for European IR research and has a good editorial board. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 17:38, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've created an article for it, but in WP terms it's just the indexing that makes it just notable enough for it to have an article, but that's about it really. --The Vintage Feminist (talk) 21:02, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian Foreign Policy Journal does not belong[edit]

Problems with the inclusion of this journal:

1) It has no impact factor as far as I can tell. Could you find the impact factor on the Google Scholar or Thomson Reuters Social Science Citation Indexes, because I can't? Don't you think it's reasonable that only journals with an impact factor be included on this page? Isn't that the most reasonable hurdle to pass?

2) It features on no professional ranking of political science or IR journals. For instance, it doesn't feature in rankings of IR or political science journals by Google Scholar, Giles and Garand, TRIP surveys or any other common ways to measure the notability of IR journals.

3) One editor argues that it should be included because OpenCanada mentions the journal as one of Canada's top five leading periodicals on foreign policy. That's not sufficient to warrant inclusion. Snooganssnoogans (talk) 21:26, 4 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
