Highest and lowest temperatures for each capital city[edit]

There is a problem with these sections. When I initially added them in December 2020, I only added temperatures recorded at each city's primary weather station, i.e. the extreme temperatures listed on each city's wikipedia page. These weather stations were near the central business district of each city. Over the months, extreme temperatures recorded outside each city's primary weather station have been added, making these sections a mess. Including places like Mount Wellington and Penrith is a bit disingenuous in my opinion. I propose reverting these sections back to how they were before. Alternatively, these sections could be removed entirely for being unencyclopedic. Thoughts? Steelkamp (talk) 01:29, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps this information should be noted as a footnote after each capital city noting the coordinates/BOM information for each of the weather stations used (and if it's still in use eg Melbourne's moving from the CBD to Olympic Park). This might lead to an additional data set to include the extreme temperatures for the greater metropolitan areas for a usefully encyclopedic comparison. Cloncurry record[edit]

The Cloncurry record temperature of 53.1 °C (127.6 °F) is not recognised nowadays by the BoM due to problems with the way the temperature was recorded. @Signalscadd: You say "As the facts from the link provided speaks for itself. It can not be disputed." That is clearly not true as the Bureau of Meteorology itself disputes it. The link above says "We found documentary evidence for that which showed the measurement was taken in - would you believe - a beer crate nailed to the side of a house," he said. "That would certainly have affected the reading ... which was probably somewhere around 47 degrees." Steelkamp (talk) 14:21, 19 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mildura[edit]
