Result of redirects[edit]
As per previous talk pages (hopefully all now redirected to this one), the article is now a combination of two previous articles, List of compositions by César Franck by opus number, and List of compositions by César Franck by genre. Article needs to be updated. Cataloguing is off. See below[edit]
This article is based off Wilhelm Mohr's cataloguing of Cesar Franck's work. Mohr was a Nazi writer from about 100 years ago who argued that Franck was a German, based on race theory. That isn't necessarily a problem, but what is a problem, is the fact that his cataloguing system (FWV) of Franck's work is extremely incomplete, and in many cases, wrong (listed dates are often incorrect). A much better cataloguing system (CFF) was created by Joël-Marie Fauquet, who wrote the definitive 1000+ page biography of Franck in 1999. His catalogue of Franck's work is vastly superior to Mohr's, and should be listed here on this page. Not only is it more complete, but it contains more accurate dates, more notes, and other relevant information that belongs in the composer's catalogue. Even in the Wikipedia article, someone placed a sentence in the opening body alerting readers to the much better, much newer catalogue system. The only question is, why isn't Wikipedia using it?
What this article needs is to place both catalogue systems in the article. Over at IMSLP, they already have done this, with heavier weight being given to the CFF system over the FWV system. Here is what it looks like:

- @YouarelovedSOmuch: I compiled this list a few years ago, and realised soon afterwards that that Mohr's list was somewhat incomplete; and that better compilations exist, such as that discussed above. "Why isn't Wikipedia using it?" you ask. I'll tell you. Because "Wikipedia" doesn't actually exist. Articles which get to see the light of day are written because individual people take the time to write them. There is no overarching authority. The the portals and project pages are mostly hopeless because no-one is in charge. There is no commissioning editor for articles on music or anything else, since herding cats is a more fruitful and rewarding exercise. As I have stated elsewhere, I am not a huge fan of CF's music (apart from Ce qu'on entend sur la montagne), and I also have about a hundred more pressing articles to write before I get around to updating this one. If no-one else has followed up your suggestion, that's because no-one else can be arsed. Franck was only a minor composer, and only a very select few (mostly organists) have even heard of his name, let alone listened to anything he wrote. So, instead of complaining, why not do the work yourself? It's incredibly difficult and time-consuming (and tables will certainly do your head in as an added extra), and a load of ignorant twats will almost certainly denigrate your pathetic efforts. It you can play three staves at sight along with some intelligent registration, or fly a helicopter, or perform a triple salko, be of good cheer: editing a Wikipedia article demands even more effort.
