Székesfehérvár[edit]

Isn't it time to put this city in the lower bracket? It has a population of less then 100 000 according to the data used and it is in the 100 000 + category. OK, the difference is quite minimal, but the fact is that the title and table together look well stupid, or unprofessional to put it more mildly, this way

Kadarkút, Nyírlugos, Pálháza (already a town according to boon.hu; official site doesn't mention it; boon.hu has some other factual errors so I wouldn't trust them) , Martonvásár, Ócsa, Abádszalók, [1]

The list of Hungarian towns here includes 2 places by mistake: Diósd and Moragy. The first is a quickly growing municipality in the Budapest agglomeration, while the latter (written as Mórágy in Hungarian) is a small village in Tolna county and I have no idea how it could get a position in your list. Hungarian geography and municipal system[edit]

I tried to clarify terminology about municipalities in Hungary but I feel it is not enough. Maybe some more details could be added about geographic settlement patterns, local administration structures and their relations in Hungarian municipal system. Where and how should I place further details on the topic? This is important becouse could let readers understand the "Szanticska case" in details. This case is highly problematic because declaring Szanticska as the smallest village / inhabited place in Hungary has neither academic nor legal justification and thus is POV. Község village?[edit]

My Magyar-Francia dictionary states that Község means in French commune, not village (Falu). I suggest thus to replace village by municipality (Gemeinde in German). it should reflect the first level of administration; I doubt that every village has its own administration!

Differences[edit]

Can someone please add a section, or at least sentences in the opening, describing the difference in administrative level between villages, towns, and towns with county rights if any such differences exist? We need to know if all of these municipalities are on the same level, are each type subordinate to the district in which they are located, etc.? There is a off-handed mention that villages can be "elevated" to town status, but what exactly does that change as it relates to rights or responsibilities if any? --Criticalthinker (talk) 20:36, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Peak population[edit]

Does anyone have an idea where the peak population datas in the tables are from? They all seem close to the truth and some seem right from the data I've gathered (e.g. Cegléd's 40644 for 1980), but most of them seem made up and I can't find any source to back them - moreover, I can't find any source for the population of Kaposvár in 1979, and I can't find any data for Szekszárd exceeding 38k let alone 39k. Even worse, the given 2011 census data for Gödöllő is higher than the peak population given for 2016. I'm planning to completely reorganize that column once I collect all estimates of KEKKH since 1986 (which aren't completely precise either), but I'd like to first ask here because it seems there is a collection of data (possibly in a book) from the 70s-80s I can't find.- Recrudescence (talk) 17:10, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
