      • Names on the bassoon page ***

Wow! Me first entry in talk page! I've noticed there's a bunch of bassoonists listed at the bottom of the bassoon page, some of whom are listed here and some of whom are not. Similarly, some of the names here are not in that list, and perhaps are worth including. My question is, given the redundancy or overlap between the two lists, should the list at the bottom of the bassoon article be removed and the names from there added here?

Too a certain extent yes. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 16:10, 26 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tidy[edit]

I removed the following red links, Norman Herzberg (1916–2007) , Kelley Kroft, Anthony Kuhlmann, Saxton Rose, Charles Ullery, Russell Oates, Ivan Eroed, David Seidel, Milan Turković, Dietmar Zeman, Janet Bloxwich, Sarah Burnett, David Chatterton, David Chatwin, Mike Cole, Bill Douglas, Deirdre Dundas-Grant, Rachel Gough, Ursula Leveaux, Nicholas Reader, Julian Roberts, Graham Sheen, Philip Turbett, Alan Warhurst, Gunter Piesk, Sergio Azzolini, Stefano Canuti, Corrado Dabbene, Roberto Giaccaglia, Gian Luca Reverberi, Eliseo Smordoni, Stefano Vicentini, Dag Jensen, Tracy McGinnis, Esteban Falconi, Gustavo Núñez, as it's impossible to tell if they are bassoonists or not without some sources. With that many red links it's also hard to tell if they are noted for their bassoon playing or are like Madonna Wayne Gacy and Beverly Hanson.

I also removed David Hubbard who was a U.S. Representative and Julie Price that redirects to Julie Arthur wife of the Prime Minister of Barbados.

British/Irish bassoonists can't be mixed together as they are two seperate countries. France and Germany are not mixed together, so why British/Irish? Americans are now at United States and the others are listed as countries. Americans can refer to anyone who lives in the Americas and not just residents of the US.

I replaced the "more sources" tag with a single "fact tag" for Paul Hindemith who composed works for the bassoon but does not appear to have played it.

Finally I was able to find several people who were missing from the list and were not included in a bassoon category. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 01:18, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • I made pretty much the same edit a few weeks ago, but was reverted by User:Casadesus, i imagine they will have something to say about this.--Jac16888 (talk) 03:01, 18 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List Transfer from Bassoon Mainpage[edit]

Hi y'all, I transferred over the list of bassoon players from the main bassoon page to this page since I found that they would fit in better on this page. If y'all have any questions or concerns, please just let me know. Thanks! UnfoldingWords (talk) 04:19, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
