Golden Globe nominations and awards[edit]

Descriptions of his Golden Globe achievements are confusing. The GP mainpage states 5 total nominations, winning Best Actor twice and Best Support once. And in this his Awards & Honours article it first stated "received 5 total nominations, and 3 total wins; he garnered awards twice for both Best Actor and World Film Favorite, winning the award for Best Supporting Actor once", before I clarified it to say " .. Best Actor twice and World Film Favorite twice .. (etc)". But obviously that clarification is still insufficient, as it means he had at least 4 wins minimum. And then I noticed the article's Infobox states "9 nominations, 6 wins".

So I looked deeper and concluded that the main source of confusion is the fact that he's listed as having 5 GGlobe nominations on the GGlobe Best Actor page article. That's correct, but ONLY in terms of Best Actor - he did indeed achieve several more nominations (and wins) via other categories. Not easy to straighten out the descriptions (and this article's Wikilink to the GGlobe Best Supporting Actor article goes to the wrong page too - goes to Best Support in a Motion Pic, and should go to Best Support in a Series/Miniseries/TV instead). So I'm working my way through the GGlobe descriptions to make improvements, so that in the end they'll properly match up to the total "9 nominations, 6 wins" mentioned in the Infobox. I've just also found out that the Golden Globes database at https://www.goldenglobes.com/awards-database states confusingly that he had "8 nominations, 5 wins", but it lists 6 wins including the honorary Cecil B. de Mille award, so their totals must exclude the honorary nom+win (ie. 8+5 should be 9+6), and therefore the Wikipedia Infobox numbers are confirmed as correct.
