Lower list, ahem, mayhem[edit]

Something serious seems to have happened to a huge chunk of the latter part of the list. Scores of "geologists". Included, for instance is Evelyn Underhill - theologist, maybe, but not geologist. Just stumbled across this list by chance. Somebody with an interest able to fix?? Shall also alert KCL talk page. Wingspeed (talk) 00:07, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Inherent anachronism[edit]

See Alumni discussion on King's College London talk page. Have these points been addressed? Does the list, for example, still include former teachers at King's? It displays sad characteristics of obsessive listitus, rather than an appropriate concern to inform. The somewhat juvenile territorial insistence upon inclusion at all costs of those who once studied at institutions later absorbed into King's renders is at best highly confusing and, at worst, profoundly anachronistic. In other words, the converse of the proper function of a work of reference: the increase, rather than the alleviation, of ignorance. Wingspeed (talk) 20:35, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

To partly answer my own question above (I'd be grateful for a proper answer from any better placed to supply one), the very first name on the list, Alfred Barry, is not a former pupil of King's but of King's College School, not at all the same thing. He later became Principal of King's but is an alumnus, rather, of Trinity College, Cambridge - as his WP entry makes clear. King's College School, far from later merging with King's - the sort of justification used to include the likes of Keats in the list - moved from the Strand to Wimbledon in 1897. This one example is symptomatic and, if I may say, crazy. Wingspeed (talk) 23:36, 8 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Copyrighted images[edit]

File:House of Commons.jpg and File:House of Lords chamber - toward throne.jpg are under parliamentary copyright, and therefore their usage ought to be limited. Are they really necessary here? Waltham, The Duke of 19:13, 21 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sarah Wollaston - 'by extension'??[edit]

She stood for election as a graduate of Guys - I know Guys merged with Kings', but the dates on her original Conservative CV didn't tally and gave the clear impression she graduated from Guys (making no mention of King's at all). She took a B.Sc as year 3 - was she dumped from Medicine at Guys to make way for Oxbridgers, and re-taken back into medicine at King's as a graduate entrant? My understanding was that during the 'merger years', people who began training at Guys were recorded as Guy's graduates - the dates are awry 79.74.96.160 (talk) 09:36, 25 August 2015 (UTC)twl79.74.96.160 (talk) 09:36, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
