Yahoo Clubs[edit]

The Yahoo Clubs section is technically a dead service.

Started out as a page devoted to a single subject / interestt, with a section for photos. Members of a club could read and post to the main page. Yahoo has since reformatted it into newsgroups, and renamed it "Yahoo Groups" . Http://Clubs.Yahoo.Com redirects to Yahoo Groups. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.149.5.177 (talk) 00:12, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Y! clubs operated along side Groups for a short while before being closed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Madbunny101 (talkcontribs) 10:17, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Y! Web Msgr[edit]

Perhaps someone should add the Web Messenger service as well + the link. Just a thought :)

Other services[edit]

Other srvs that are missing are Greetings, Astrology and maybe some others too... Reference would be www.yahoo.com I'd say.

Also Broadcast.com -> yahoo.com was part of the Simplenet acquisition. Y! cut simplenet loose but kept broadcast.com, and maintained the Y! domains and hosting services from Simplenet. Now if I can find a source that is not from memory cuz Wiki wants everything cited.

Yahoo! Webrings was spun off or sold, i think back to the original owner if I'm not mistaken.

Yahoo! also purchased Encompass which made a Yahoo! branded browser. This was sometime back in the late 90s to early 2k. My understanding is that Encompass was used to make Yahoo! Toolbar. But again, need a source to cite.

Yahoo! People Search[edit]

Should this be added as well? User:Kushal_one —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.150.163.1 (talk) 04:10, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggesting move to List of Yahoo Products[edit]

I see that there is a special page called List of Google products, so i look up List of Yahoo products, and then i find that it redirects to this page. To maintain uniformity on wikipedia regarding article nomenclature, i would suggest this page being moved to List of Yahoo products instead of just using a redirect to List of Yahoo!-owned sites and services. No objection from me. dbinghamjr (talk) 20:47, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Split Closed/Defunct into "Closed" and "Sold"?[edit]

I've noticed a few of the services listed under "Closed/Defunct" have been sold to other another company, and are still online. (Ex. Delicious & Blo.gs) Maybe have two different sections to prevent confusion? Opinions? dbinghamjr (talk) 20:49, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Unwanted image[edit]

The image on the page List of Yahoo!-owned sites and services should be deleted for the following reason:

  • Image is not relevant to the subject in any way, shape, or form

Never mind. It seems I was viewing a different revision. My bad. Helixsoft (Talk|Contributions|Templates|Userboxes) 00:36, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Outdated[edit]

The article needs to be tthoroughly reviewed: a lot of the sites listed have now been closed down or merged. Richard3120 (talk) 04:38, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
