Untitled[edit]

Big thanks to everyone who worked on this list to keep it up to date. It's something I've been looking for and very useful.

Added 5/10 nickname[edit]

"Five and Dime" was a standard and regularly used colloquialism for the battalion during my tenure there, from the LtCol all the way down to the troops. 24.106.210.194 13:33, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Radio Battalion[edit]

I believe each MEF or perhaps each Marine Division has a Radio Battalions (maybe not the Reserve 4th MarDiv), but where are they? --ProdigySportsman 04:20, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

2nd MLG[edit]

There are a number of graphics missing for 2nd MLG because thier public website is absolutely horrible. I will try to loolk into it some more and find some on the intranet next week. bahamut0013 17:11, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MEF/MHG structure[edit]

As stated about the radio bns, each mef has a headquarters group. For instance, 9th com, 1st radio, 1st anglico, and 1st recon make up I MHG. Overall a good list, but the organization could use a little tinkering and the missing battalions need to be placed. Good work to all (wish i could help, but i'm just a pog).

Reorganization of Marine units lits[edit]

As per this conversation, I will soon be converting this list to be organized by mission, rather than heierarchy (to match the format of List of active United States Marine Corps aircraft squadrons). The chain of command will become a subsection within Ground combat element and Logistics combat element. I will be gradually doing this over the coming days (possibly weeks). I'm posting this here in case anyone wants to add thier input to this topic. bahamut0013 23:54, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That edit conflict was a bit of a doozy. I think I'm done for a few hours; I've been working at this all morning. I'll start up again this afternoon if I don't see anyone working on it at the time. bahamut0013 16:34, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No nickname for 2/5???[edit]

I noticed that 2nd BN 5th MAR had no nickname listed. As a veteran of 2/5 from 2000-2004, I know that our Battalion Commanders always used the term "Most Decorated Battalion" to describe us, I think this is a valid nickname, although it may upset those who were not honored to serve in 2/5. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.127.117.113 (talk) 11:38, 8 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
