Possible goals for this list-article[edit]

I started this list-article originally to support statements in National Historic Landmark article and elsewhere about the tally of ships that are NHLs, and it accomplishes that now.

I was motivated to complete out the list in order to support new WikiProject Museums, by facilitating identification of which U.S. ships are museums on their own or are part of maritime museums, which could be added to the wikiproject. I intended the column on museum associations for use like a checklist, to note whether there is a museum association or not, and implicitly to keep track of whether the appropriate museum has been added to the wikiproject. When that exercise is completed, the column might eventually be dropped.

Other purposes/development of this list-article would be welcomed. I suppose this list-article could be developed into a Featured List, perhaps, if there were editors motivated to make that happen. Comments/suggestions? doncram (talk) 18:55, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Pilot.jpg[edit]

The image Image:Pilot.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.
