U2

U2 are an Irish band. Ireland is not part of Great Britain. Therefore U2 are not a British Invasion artist

I agree with this comment. I've been a user of Wikipedia for years, but just created an account specifically to make this very point. I like U2 and I like British bands, but U2 is not British and shouldn't be listed here. ScotchOnTheRocks (talk) 02:46, 13 August 2017 (UTC)

Kate Bush

I think she belongs. While she was widely successful worldwide starting in 1978 she did not get notable chart successes and MTV airplay in the United States until 1985 Edkollin (talk) 05:12, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Great Britain

The Second British Invasion refers to music acts from the United Kingdom that became popular in the United States. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom (UK) or Britain, is a sovereign country in western Europe. Lying off the north-western coast of the European mainland, the United Kingdom includes the island of Great Britain, the north-eastern part of the island of Ireland and many smaller islands. Most of England, Scotland, and Wales are on the island of Great Britain.

The Republic of Ireland is a sovereign state in north-western Europe occupying 26 of 32 counties of the island of Ireland, it is not part of Great Britain. U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin formed in 1976. The band formed at Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin in 1976 when the members were teenagers. Possible bias in article

I have noticed that the articles mentioned here aren't accurate at all. A majority of the articles themselves don't really give much good info about the invasion itself, since most of them were from newspaper articles in the early 80s. Also when putting an already "accepted" source on another artist it is described as "badly sourced" by the same caretaker of the article.

I don't know what's going on, but it doesn't seem right to use the same source on another edit and call it badly sourced; especially when you're already using it as a source in the first place. To go along with that, some of the claims used by the article based on those sources, aren't what the sources actually state. For example After the Fire isn't mentioned as part of the invasion nor were their British ethnicity mentioned; in fact the article actually states Falco is the invasion artist (which is inaccurate) with After the Fire being a sidenote, and a majority of the articles also claim that already big British superstars were part of the invasion because of MTV's success. I don't know whether or not this is truly bias or misunderstanding, but I am a little skeptical about what's being allowed upon this article and what not based on the selected sources. 73.240.105.138 (talk) 23:49, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
