America Rock - The Preamble[edit]

The author of this section wrote: "When writing this song, they had to remove a small section of the song to make the song rhyme."

Instead, I'm pretty sure the sentence should read: ". . . they had to remove a small section of the Preamble [not "the song" as it says in the original sentence] to make the song rhyme."

Specifically, the Preamble of the Constitution begins, "We the people of the United States in order to form . . ." whereas the SHR song removes the phrase "of the United States" and begins simply "We the people in order to form . . ." —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.224.13.163 (talk) 13:55, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Season 2 Episode[edit]

Not a suggestion for the page just an observation that in Series 2 when they cover the parts of speech they omit the Preposition. Prepositions are often the group of words ESL students have the most problem with because each language seems to perform their function slightly or very differently. Consider "to" or "from" which could be active or passive which matters in Russian (accusative or locative) or the translation back to English could have a different meaning such as "à" or "de" in French meaning at, in, with or for under certain contexts or to, from, of, for or by again in context in each respectively. And then many languages like German and Russian and Latin all decline their nouns based on which preposition is used. Or take Japanese or Turkish (IIRC) where there are no preposition and instead particles are added on to the end of a noun to indicate its prepositional context similar to declension though without any concept of gender or other agreements. Point being prepositions are important, tricky and missing. I need to get in contact Bob Dorough to see if he can help me write that one! :) --TimeHorse (talk) 21:44, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Seasons?[edit]

Realize that this content has been on the page for quite sometime, but I'm wondering why each of the sections is labeled with "Season (X):". Although the first two sections, Multiplication and Grammar, line up pretty well with the first air dates flowing chronologically, the system breaks down with "Rufus Xavier Sarsaparilla" airing after America Rock's "Mother Necessity", "Three Ring Government" airing midway in the Science Rock list, and is especially absurd when the two added Grammar Rock titles, ''Busy Prepositions" and "The Tale of Mr Morton", are called Season 5.5 when they A) have nothing to do with Season 5 (Computer Rock) and B) occurred nine years after it. In addition, although the videos are numbered, the numbering system has nothing to do with the chronological air dates and is instead an arbitrary list based on the show's placement within the individual Rock lists - and is especially true for Computer Rock, Grammar Rock 2, and Money Rock where there is no air DATE and the shows are just thrown together by year. Is there a reason why this column is even here? Can't we simply say in the lead that there are 54 shows and call it good?

That being said, my proposition is simply to delete the "Season (X):" heading for each of the Rock groups, bring the two orphan Grammar Rock shows up with the main group, and delete the "No" column from each of the listings completely and replace it with a sentence in the lead about the number of shows in the overall series. Rankings?[edit]

How are both "Three Ring Government" and "Do the Circulation" ranked #39 of 39 in the description? Some of the song's descriptions don't match the list at the end, but which is correct? Even if we say Three Ring Government is #36 like it appears in the list, that conflicts with The Four-Legged Zoo, also said to be at #36. Someone who actually owns the DVD ought to fix this, although the list format seems closer to being the correct one. 67.236.69.186 (talk) 06:30, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
