Fantastic list of names, with no Wiki links. Someone want to take adopt any? Soapy 16:44, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion to improve list format[edit]

Could I suggest that we change the list to a Wiki table? This would enable sorting by Year, Region, Category (Outlaw / Lawman), Ethnicity (Mexican, Californio , Native American, etc).--Graham Proud (talk) 14:24, 24 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Do not add people without Wikipedia articles[edit]

There are a lot of great outlaws listed on this page without any Wikipedia articles. Sooner or later someone will come along and delete them. Anyone wish to write an article about some of these people before it's too late? Soapy 15:20, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removed two entries, because they were obviously wrong (birthdates in the 1980). Seems like a bunch of kids wanted to be on that outlaw list. Edit: found one more of those kiddies, and removed him.

I disagree with the suggestion that names without WP articles should not be added. Red-linked articles may encourage someone to write an article. This list already contained a number of red-linked article names and I've retained them upon reorganizing and consolidating the list from Gunfighter. — btphelps (talk) (contribs) 11:48, 26 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't automatically disagree with removing all red-links but I don't want the article to get bogged down with them. I don't want an abundance of links to people who may or may not be figures of historical significance. How do we know verify the red-link that gets added is an old west gunfighter and is also notable without having an article to accompany it? Do we leave red-links up for a specific time before removing them? etc etc. Killian441 (talk) 01:25, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Do we have to ascertain whether they are notable until an article is written? I suppose if the list gets overwhelmed with red-links, we could take action to reduce the list. But for now it seems manageable. — btphelps (talk) (contribs) 16:26, 27 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Question Marks in Dates[edit]

To anonymous user at IP 75.57.242.211 -- It looks like you did a lot of work removing question marks from dates. It appears to me that they were there for a reason - either they indicated unverified dates or they filled in for partial dates. For example, hanging 18??-1899? to 18-1899 does not make sense. I am reverting your edits. If you have reasons for these changes (have you confirmed some of the dates?), please document them. -- Tcncv (talk) 04:12, 29 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

George "Reelfoot Williams" Skinner[edit]

When you click on the name George "Reelfoot Williams" Skinner, it takes you to an article for George Edward Henry Skinner, an English professional footballer. I would change it but I just joined and don't yet know what I'm doing. Thanks in advance JoplinRulesJoplinRules (talk) 02:27, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Real Gunfighters or just Gunfighters?[edit]

I may not know a lot about Old West but, isn't Ben Cartwright (1825–1910) the main character from Bonanza? And I mean actually a character, not a real person. Is this a page about real gunfighters? For me it's very confusing reading that names besides Sam Bass or "Wild Bill" Hickok, but it could be just that I don't know if every single gunfighter listed is real or not. Can anyone help with this, please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robe1980 (talkcontribs) 12:06, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
