Merger proposal[edit]

It is proposed that the article List of Nigerian traditional rulers be merged into this article. In theory each entry in the list of rulers should correspond to an entry in the list of states, and vice-versa, so the articles have 100% overlap. The list of rulers has no natural sequence since in many parts of Nigeria there is no concept of "surname", and no standard sequence for given names. Thus a name like "Mohammed Umar Abubakar" could be placed under M, U or A. As it grows, it would become very difficult to find an entry in the list of rulers. The list of states has a more natural alphabetic sequence. Aymatth2 (talk) 12:58, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since there was no objection, the merge has been done. Aymatth2 (talk) 14:27, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
