Name Change proposal[edit]

I propose changing this page to List of Marist Brothers schools. Many schools listed are "Marist Schools" but are not operated by the Marist Brothers. Marist College is an example of this. -- Porkrind 17:41, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree Stoneice02 22:53, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, good idea. This will bring the title into line with the List of Christian Brothers schools, which also reflects a range of operational statuses for these schools. Rob Lindsey 05:10, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like this is a pretty easily-justified move since the original name does not correctly identify the list. Move made. Stoneice02 21:07, 7 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For prostarity, the former name of this article was "List of educational facilities operated by the Marist Brothers". Porkrind (talk) 23:27, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Non-Marist Schools[edit]

would you like me to remove the non-marist brothers schools here listed? Matt Bray 06:54, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Matt, if the school has absolutely no affiliation with the Marist Brothers (they weren't founded by, they aren't run by, etc.), then by all means remove them. They don't belong on the list. Stoneice02 07:28, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Parramatta Marist[edit]

Parramatta Marist in Australia, NSW, 2 Darcy Rd. Westmead in sydney is a marsit school, and it was the first catholic school in Australia. I go their and we shoul be added on this list as like i said we are the first catholic school in Australia and we more than practise all Marcellins Charisms. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.173.60.250 (talk) 06:52, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Look again--that school is already on the list. -- DanielPenfield (talk) 12:33, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I went to "Marist Brothers High School Hamilton" in Newcastle New South Wales, between 1961 and 1965. It is not on the list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.154.24.148 (talk) 12:46, 13 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

+++Marist Bros school addition in South Australia+++ Just for further followups: There was a Marist School in George Street Thebarton. I believe it was a 'technical' college, ~1950, which became co-ed, merging with Mary MaKillop ~1970's, renamed to 'Kilmara.' Upon closure ~latter 1980's the site was developed as a Catholic resource centre.
