Untitled[edit]

Who is adding all of the episode related minutia to the Character entries? People looking to wiki for reference are not going to be happy seeing major plot "spoilers" disclosing story elements prematurely.Max Vitor (talk) 01:39, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps a spoiler warning would be appropiate...Kronnang Dunn (talk) 08:17, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I did some research. Apparently spoiler warnings aren't necessary in wikipedia...Kronnang Dunn (talk) 22:37, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't "Michael Blanc" actually be "Mihail Blanc"? I've always seen Michael written as "マイケル” (maikeru) as in "Michael Jordan." I'm quite certain "ミハエル” is the romanji spelling of "Mihail," which is Russian for "Michael." I believe it's important to keep name spellings as acurate as possible to bring across the "international melting pot" flavor of the Macross Frontier universe, but I don't want to assume and change these translations provided below, for whatever reason "Michael" was decided upon. 'Michael' appears to be referred to by two different names. People who don't know him well refer to him as 'Mihail'. Those who are more informal with him use 'Mishail' (sounds like 'Mihail', except the 'h' is replaced by an 'sh' sound). Luca even makes a specific reference to Alto's use of the latter at the end of episode 9. So unless you actually see it romanized as 'Mihail' in an official source, it's probably best to leave his first name as 'Michael' for the time being. --Junior612 (talk) 20:04, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's Michael Blanc, refer to episode 18 around 12:46 for Alto's phone conversation with Michael if people still have doubts. (75.157.134.17 (talk) 01:02, 9 August 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Shouldn't something also be noted about him having Zentraedi-style ears, thus implying that he's not entirely human? 71.203.209.0 (talk) 23:43, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'd say no until such time as it's important to the plot. Having a Zentraedi ancestor isn't in and of itself seen as important within the Frontier fleet, so I don't see that there's a need to mention it unless it suddenly becomes an important plot point. --Junior612 (talk) 20:11, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

'Alto' vs. 'Aruto'[edit]

I don't know who keeps changing 'Alto' to 'Aruto' (for one thing, they're not logging in when they make their changes), but they need to knock it off. 'Alto' is the accepted version of the protagonist's name in English, and as such is the version that is recognized by the vast majority of English-speakers familiar with the series. Both versions of the name are legitimate translations, as are 'Arto' and 'Aluto'. --Junior612 (talk) 20:20, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nene Rora didn't die in Episode 20...[edit]

The S.M.S. dead woman at the entry of the Macronization chambers wasn't Nene, but another woman called "Anne". Removing from the character descriptions now...Kronnang Dunn (talk) 08:19, 27 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Reference to Ranka Lee[edit]

I know she has her own page, but we should at least keep a reference to her on the character's page so that people know she is a main character and have a common place to look for character information. If her info was removed to conform to a specific set of guidelines, is it possible to just have a link to her page listed here? —Preceding unsigned comment added by I8saj (talkcontribs) 12:20, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alto Saotome[edit]

I really think that they should make an article about Alto, since he's like the main character. Really sucks that they can't make an article about him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Valkyrie123 (talkcontribs) 23:01, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sheryl's Past[edit]

In case people need clarification, the source of Sheryl's past is related to this manga, someone has acquired translated scans of it. http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=54482 96.49.246.43 (talk) 00:26, 15 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Grace O'connor[edit]

Near the end it appears that Grace O'connor reveals she also had a "slave implant" installed in her prior to sheryl joining Ranka to free the Vajra Queen in the movie.

Spellings[edit]

Monica Lange would suggest it is pronounced "lanj", the tomaji is clearly "rang" with a g, Anime News Network and Macross Compendium says her name is "Lang" only myanimelist in wikipeida say it is "lange" From the romaji, Kanaria should obviously be "Canaria" like the islands/the bird.

Skull Flight[edit]

The page should stop describing "スカル小隊" (sukarushōtai) as "Skull Squadron" but rather as "Skull Flight". A "shōtai" is not a "squadron". For aerial military units, "shōtai" is equivalent to "flight", and this is how the official subtitles for the following series Macross Delta went for Delta Flight. One onscreen graphic in Frontier did say "Skull Platoon", but the English graphics in the series didn't generally have good grammar. Transphasic (talk) 00:10, 21 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
