A search for reliable, secondary sources reveals an insufficient amount of significant coverage for the Little House on the Prairie character Albert Quinn Ingalls. As such, Albert Quinn Ingalls should be merged here. Neelix (talk) 20:28, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Favor - Certainly sounds reasonable to me. --Musdan77 (talk) 15:36, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

All of the real-life individuals from Little House on the Prairie are already included on this list. There is no reason to duplicate the information on two separate lists, so List of real-life individuals from Little House on the Prairie should be merged here. Oppose: You are mixing 2 formats and genres. The TV show and its characters (this page) are based mostly on fiction -- loosely on real people. The books (Little House on the Prairie) are all based on real people. And that list has many names that are not in the TV series (I'm not even sure if they're all in the books). So, if anything that page should merge with the book article -- though it is pretty long. I don't know if it's too long.
Now this makes me question the above merger (Albert Quinn Ingalls). Now, if there's insufficient sources, well that's a different issue. --Musdan77 (talk) 03:59, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
We may agree more than you think. Your suggestion that List of Little House on the Prairie characters "should merge with the book article" is quite acceptable to me, and is largely what I was recommending in the first place. The title of the resulting article, however, should be List of Little House on the Prairie characters as not all of the characters are fictionalizations of real-life people. The scope of the article should be the characters in the Little House on the Prairie media franchise as a whole, with indications given on each character about their appearances in various forms of media within the franchise. The problem with the former Albert Quinn Ingalls article was insufficient sources. Neelix (talk) 13:39, 11 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I had not seen your reply until now. "per discussion"? Isn't there supposed to be consensus? There's only one (other) opinion given (mine) and it wasn't in favor, and I don't think 5 days is enough time to pass. Also, your quote cuts off my "if anything." Now, while I still don't quite agree with this, if we are going to do it that way, I think that the title should be changed to List of Little House characters, because only the first book (and TV series) is called Little House on the Prairie; the book series is known as the Little House books. --Musdan77 (talk) 23:17, 16 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Split Albert Quinn Ingalls[edit]

First off, this article has very little information on this character. In fact nothing other than "Adopted Son". That says nothing about this character. Second, the previous discussion is a poor excuse of a consensus. An entire articles fate should not rely on just a few editors who just happen to be watching the article at a particular time. And of course it ignore the fact that the PROD tag was removed by another editor, meaning the merge was not uncontested. Third, in universe information in a television show is considered a source, as long as no outside syntheses is added.--JOJ Hutton 15:23, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Confusing family trees[edit]

I find the family trees under section Characters based on real people confusing. Are we to believe that the TV series had hundreds of characters, some of them based on people born as far back as 1530? I don't think so.

If these family trees are of real ancestors of Laura Ingalls Wilder, then perhaps they should be moved to that article (although it would seem incredibly unusual for a biography to have so much genealogical detail). If they are fantasy genealogy, then what purpose do they serve by being listed here? Mathglot (talk) 20:28, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • I personally think the section needs thorough cleanup to meet Wikipedia standards. Monni (talk) 21:34, 26 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
