New photos, comments welcome[edit]

I've added NASA Blue Marble satellite composite images to the following articles (the top islands which didn't already have an overall satellite photo):

  1. Bathurst Island
  2. Somerset Island and Fort Ross
  3. Vancouver Island
  4. Prince of Wales Island, Nunavut
  5. Southampton Island
  6. Melville Island, Canada
  7. Axel Heiberg Island
  8. Devon Island
  9. Banks Island
  10. Ellesmere Island
  11. Victoria Island (Canada)

I'd like to add ones to the remaining islands listed here, but the Blue Pearl data isn't very detailed, and so for the smaller islands one either gets a uselessly grainly image or one has to show progressively more of the neighbourhood and less of the island itself. I might be able to find Landsat imagery (which is much more detailed) but its server is broken today. Comments and suggestions as to these images are most welcome. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 16:31, 9 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would welcome more photos in this article. I think it would be a great addition, although make sure they are freely lisenced. Currently, there are no photos and it makes the article feel detached and superficial. Zacharycmango (talk) 21:42, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In order to satisfy the recommendation on Wikipedia:Image dos and don'ts, to try to find at least one image for each article., should this article include images beside each island name? Zacharycmango (talk) 21:58, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not more islands in Canada?[edit]

There is only 49 islands, of which 32 are with ranking numbers. USA only has 22 islands with area over 1000 km², but still that [List of islands of the United States by area|article] has 68 numbered entries, all above 190 km² of area. Can it be so hard to get data for Canadian islands? I might later take a try myself. 82.141.72.135 (talk) 13:46, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

And in fact there are over 60 Canadian islands in List of islands by area, is there any reason of those missing here? 82.141.127.203 (talk) 23:27, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cape Breton[edit]

Can anyone explain why this is counted as a single island, when it is actually two? Hatifnatter (talk) 19:55, 18 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
