I propose that all entries are included within the most appropriate section reflecting the subject's primary notability. For example Rizwan Hussain is notable for being a television presenter who also happens to be a barrister and would not have an article of his own for just being a lawyer. Therefore, he should be included in the section of "Entertainment" not "Law and justice". Please ensure any consensus also relates to the exact same issue on List of British Bangladeshis. It is wrong. I think he should be included in legal section. He is well known as a lawyer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.149.79.252 (talk) 19:25, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I believe you are wrong. There is no significant coverage from verifiable, independent, reliable sources supporting your point of view that the subject is more "well-known" (notable) as a lawyer than as a presenter. He has a Wikipedia article about him because he has presented television programmes on Channel S and Islam Channel not because he is a qualified barrister.
This may just be your own personal opinion because you have a conflict of interest with him which you confirmed here. Tanbircdq (talk) 19:50, 10 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You have reverted my last edit on the article without responding to my last comment and you do not appear to have much of an understanding of Wikipedia guidelines. So I will try to explain another way: If hypothetically, David Beckham was on this list then he would be under the section of "Sport" not "Business and finance" because even though he is notable for both his playing career and business endeavours he is currently primarily notable for being a professional footballer. Similarly, Arnold Schwarzenegger would be under the section of "Entertainment" because although he had a notable stint as Governor of California his Hollywood acting career is still his primary source of notability. I think the parallel between the subject and their occupations on both hypothetical examples is the most constructive way to determine in which section an entry should be placed, this can be applied in the case of Rizwan Hussain in the same way.
If you still disagree with this then I hope you can agree with me requesting a WP:Third opinion so other editors can submit their opinion to help resolve this matter as do not wish to engage in a WP:EDITWAR with you. Please note that we would both need to abide by whatever WP:Consensus is formed from this. Tanbircdq (talk) 16:00, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Starting from the Head of the Yale Genius School's definition that genius is marked by the ability to see what nobody else can, first, and thereby changes the world, but is not necessarily by fame[1], it is quite possible for a single individual to be in several categories. If you search deeper, you'll find it's possible to tag a list entry accordingly and use that tag in subpages, so the usual practice is to list eminent individuals alphabetically and have appropriate subgroup pages linked at the end.
I'd also recommend you lock the main page and ask for additions, deletions and edits to be requested here. NPOV isn't a notable trait of the Muslim community, and historic rifts cause great partisanity. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.68.80.209 (talk) 03:34, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Overlinked[edit]

I think that we need to give some credibility of some intelligence to our users. There are so many trivial links to descriptive terms that simply do not need to be in a list. "footballers", "academics", etc. are obvious, and are better linked from the actual biography than from secondary text in a list item. A list item should only contain additional links where it is particularly pertinent to explain a component, not to distract from the primary link to the item about the person. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:54, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Historic British Muslims[edit]

William Henry Quilliam who changed his name to Abdullah Quilliam and later Henri Marcel Leon or Haroun Mustapha Leon, was a 19th-century convert from Christianity to Islam, noted for founding England's first mosque and Islamic centre. Might this gentleman and other British converts to Islam be added to this list?--Brenont (talk) 16:15, 30 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
