Ohio State[edit]

I removed the Buckeyes' 2000 and 2002 championships. Part of the agreement with the Jim O'Brien case is that the team would forfeit all records from the 1999-2002 seasons when Boban Savovic was on the team. This would include their Final Four appearance and the Big Ten championships. [1] Alharrison 23:18, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

perhaps for those cases were team forfeit their titles we do footnotesSmith03 18:18, 23 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • According to the NCAA press release only the NCAA Tournament records were forfeited [2]. Can anyone find a good reference to verify that the entire seasons were forfeited? (The Chicago Sun-Times article has been removed.) (Terryn3 23:50, 24 March 2006 (UTC))[reply]
  • This article also indicates only the NCAA tournament forfeitures [3] (Terryn3 23:54, 24 March 2006 (UTC))[reply]
  • It is verifiable from independent research, Ohio State and Indiana won the Big Ten Men's Basketball regular season in 1992 and 1993, not Michigan. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.129.107.253 (talk) 03:35, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Technically, Michigan won the Big Ten both seasons. Despite the school forfeiting the records, those teams finished first; the banners hung in Crisler for many years. —Preceding unsigned comment added by VictorsValiant09 (talkcontribs) 06:25, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Michigan finished third and second in 1991–92 and 1992–93, respectively, so it doesn't matter if the season were vacated or not. They did not win the Big Ten championships. See page 12 and page 69 of this document. — X96lee15 (talk) 22:46, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Explain to me how you can leave Ohio State under 2000, 2002, etc., but it's not okay to leave Michigan under 1992 and 1993?VictorsValiant09 (talk) 18:01, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The current Big Ten media guide list OSU's Big Ten titles at 17 and notes the season that were forfeited.
