Hello, I am Lior Navok, the Author of the text. I spent hours writing it. Some of the information was compiled from my website, which is under my full copyright. I do not break any law here and really hope that you will allow me to have my profile on Wikipedia.

There is still a copyright issue here that needs to be addressed. Stating here, on this talk page, that you are the original owner of the copyrighted material and that you authorize its use by Wikipedia, is insufficient for copliance with WP copyright policies, see WP:IOWN. There are two options for coplying with WP copyright policy outlined at WP:IOWN (post a note at the website where the original copyrighted material is located or send an e-mail to WMF). You could also rewrite the text of the article, so that it does not use copyrighted material. You should also know that, in general, autobiographical articles are strongly discouraged at Wikipedia, see WP:AUTO and WP:COI. I would also suggest that you add references (e.g. links to websites of organizations that gave the awards listing your name among the award recepients) verifying various awards listed in the article, per WP:V. I see that Kinu removed[1] various quotations from reviews of your work. While I disagree with a part of his rationale (brief verbatim quotations from news articles are completely customary on WP and most certainly do not violate copyrights of the news organizations/publications being quoted), the material he removed was, for the moment, completely unverified, per WP:V and probably deserved to be removed on those grounds. If you want to reinsert it, you need to provide specific and detailed references (name of the publication, name of the article, date of publication, page and an http address, if available). Just saying "Boston Phoenix" is not enough to satisfy WP:V. Also, in view of WP:NPOV, it may be better to relegate such quotes to footnotes rather than to the main body of the article. I understand. In regard to the quotes that were removed - I followed an example in another page where such information was available without additional citing. As for mentioning that some of the materials were leaning on information on my website www.liornavok.com, I have no idea how the citing in WP works and hope that you can help me with this. Looking at the category "Israeli composers" I see many pages that were authorized and have no difference from my original intention.

Regarding citing sources, you can read WP:CS and/or look at the examples of how it is done in other articles (hit the "edit" button there to see the source code). You are correct that there are many other poorly written articles on WP but it is not really an excuse to follow their example. This also applies to the other articles in the "Israeli composers" category. They are not really any more "authorized" than is your article and can also be nominated for AfD at any time. So it is best to try to follow the main WP policies and guidelines, such as WP:V, WP:NPOV, WP:BLP and WP:NOR, if you want your article to avoid deletion. For now the main issues seem to be verifiability, per WP:V (adding references to sources to verify various pieces of information given in the article) and notability, per WP:MUSIC. To some extend rectifying the former may address/fix some notability concerns. Regarding copyright, by looking at the text of the article, it does not seem to me that there are in fact serious copyright concerns in this case. However, as a general matter, the best way to avoid copyright issues is simply not to copy extensive portions of copyrighted material. I would also suggest that you copy the current version of the article in your user space (create a subpage of your user page). It may well be that the article will get deleted as a result of the ongoing AfD, and this way you will get to keep a copy of it and can then work on improving the article in your userspace and bringing it up to WP requirements before re-posting it in the main WP space again. But for now providing sources for the current article should probably be your top priority. Nsk92 (talk) 19:03, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is a bit too much. I remove the information, write one sentence about who is Lior Navok, and keep facts, which is my work list.

Tag removal[edit]

I am removing both {{Wikify}} and {{COI}} from the article. It has been wikified, and although the article was created by the subject himself, I have re-written and referenced it so that it bears no relation to the original, apart from the list of works.
