Look at this edit. That's why I put the "context" tag there. Someone's come down with a really bad case of déformation professionnelle. IMPROVED This article appeared to have a bit of a bias against LRS and for GIS, but they are both useful tools and have pros/cons depending on the context and goals. For example, there was a "Limitations" section, but no "Benefits." I plan to find more sources to back stuff up, but I know from experience that there is a rich history of using LRS and many benefits over using GPS for certain application including better accuracy and lower cost, which is why most engineers I speak to still prefer LRS.
