Contesting Speedy Deletion.

I am not the original author of this article, however...

Because there is significant coverage from multiple reliable sources independent of the subject it is reasonable to presume that Lincoln Industries is notable. It is important to note that Lincoln Industries is a subsidiary of Progress Rail Services Corporation and therefore is owned by Caterpillar Inc..

Progress Rail is one of the largest suppliers of products and services to the rail transportation industry in North America and Caterpillar Inc. is one of the largest suppliers of industrial and transportation equipment and related services in the world. The notability of both is unquestioned. Documenting the history of both of these notable companies means documenting the history of their divisions, subsidiaries and acquisition history and a Lincoln Industries article helps to paint the picture of Caterpillar's increasing success as it branches out further from its primary business of manufacturing construction equipment into other areas such as rail transportation.

I agree that the article as it initially appeared was not sufficient to support notability. I am helping to improve the article by adding additional information and citations to quickly bring the article to a level of quality that is at least equal to the many other 'stub' articles. Request 24 hour moratorium on changes that do not add content or citations[edit]

I just lost a decent amount of work due to an edit conflict that favored housekeeping activities. While adding those housekeeping notices was not wrong in any way, it is unfortunate that useful work was lost in favor of housekeeping. (I acknowledge that the lost work is my own fault and was probably avoidable but I still goofed up and lost it. Annoying!!) To avoid further frustration to someone who is attempting to contribute in a useful way please stop this housekeeping activity for 24 hours while I work to improve this article. Thanks!
