A fact from Lin Wang (Asian elephant) appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 7 December 2004. The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that Lin Wang was an elephant that served with distinction with the Chinese army during World War II?
Okay, so his name was garbled in that the intonation of the second character was misheard. It was originally supposed to mean "King of the Forest"; what did it actually mean? DS 13:39, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
