Question[edit]

Can limestone pavement exist in the absence of glaciation? --5telios (talk) 10:37, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, glaciation isn't a significant factor in it. The erosion on a small scale is formed by rainwater post-glaciation, the most that glaciation contribute might be planing a wider area flat so as to give broader planes as one continuous piece. Andy Dingley (talk) 13:01, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cliff calving from disturbance?[edit]

In this image from the article, how deep do the fissures go? Several cm or several meters?

Would it be hazardous for a person to walk along the cliff edge of this structure? If the fissures are deep enough it seems possible that lightly disturbing the structure could lead to sections breaking off and tumbling into the valley. DMahalko (talk)
