Lil Pump[edit]

Why do we have a page on Lil Pump's mixtape but not an article on Lil Pump? SuperLuigi22 (talk) 15:13, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed 184.91.66.6 (talk) 23:13, 15 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

He does have an article on a draft, however, it was salted due to repeated creations. I would say though with time, Lil Pump will or has already, warrant[ed] himself a Wiki page regardless if he's a 'good' or a 'terrible' rapper. Adog104 Talk to me 18:59, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Delete this[edit]

This kid is really bad, not even a recognizable artist, he won't exist in five years, likely be dead.

From a wiki standpoint, you won't even find enough information on him, just delete this, dude is shit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.185.153.223 (talk) 16 October 2017

It charted internationally, so it meets GNG automatically. --Aleccat 23:26, 16 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia doesn't care if you think he is bad, that's just an opinion. Lil Pump is extremely popular and is a key figure in SoundCloud rap, why shouldn't this have a page? Basically every musical source has covered him at this point. SuperLuigi22 (talk) 13:44, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This should not be considered a music genre and should be removed from the page. Much like the mumble rap page it is just a term used and not a "genre". Hip hop and trap should be obvious and should not need citation as Lil Pump's lyrics, flow and musical style are very much in those categories. Bapreme (talk) 21:25, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Also the citation does not use the term "Soundcloud rap" in it. Can we just stick to the established genres on pages? Bapreme (talk) 21:55, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
SoundCloud rap has been an established genre. SuperLuigi22 (talk) 22:30, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm adding it as "Lil Pump is a project that confirms its creator's arrival and his place as one of the leading men in the SoundCloud rap scene" is concrete evidence for genre and trap and hip-hop are not sourced. --Aleccat 22:37, 3 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lil Pump (mixtape)Lil Pump (album) – It's an album according to http://www.xxlmag.com/rap-music/reviews/2017/10/lil-pump-album-review/ and https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/8006778/lil-pump-album-top-rb-hip-hop-rap-charts 2A00:23C0:EA00:DB01:3CB5:5A3:9429:878E (talk) 16:10, 23 December 2017 (UTC) --Relisting. bd2412 T 21:11, 31 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support per "with all eyes on him, Pump puts forth his full-length debut album, a self-titled affair that captures his exuberance and disarming charisma, which he exudes throughout the project's 15 tracks.", so clearly "album" (but in truth all (mixtapes) are albums so these dabs shouldn't exist). In ictu oculi (talk) 16:47, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - At present "mixtape" and "album" are both being used so as such I'm not really seeing a valid reason to move, That being said if there are no instrumentals of other songs on this and all of his songs are his own actual work then "album" would be correct... -–Davey2010 Merry Xmas / Happy New Year 17:15, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
One problem this is causing is that we then have FOO (album) and FOO (mixtape) albums coexisting. In ictu oculi (talk) 17:37, 23 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
If two or more albums share their title, but they are not from the same type, simple disambiguation will still be used, for example Title (album) and Title (EP), or Electric Dreams (album) and Electric Dreams (soundtrack).
Well, assuming mixtape is not of the "same type" Galobtter (pingó mió) 12:46, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes but that one is a free giveaway, this one is a retail album that is an "album" according to sources. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:22, 3 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support if sources mainly describe it as an album, let's call it an album. feminist (talk) 12:58, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Lil Pump (mixtape)Lil Pump (album) – This is *clearly* a studio album. All of the tracks are the artist's original work, and almost all of the sources state that it is his "debut album". It is undoubtfully misinformative to claim this as a mixtape. Please inform me as to why it was not moved at the first request. Lazz_R 16:49, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support no idea why it wasn't moved last time. In ictu oculi (talk) 21:29, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support most sources describe it as an album. feminist (talk) 08:24, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
