If there is another page similar they should be merged, lightboxes are also used in printing, weaving, prited circuit design and so on.

It is also used by artists to retrace their preliminary art. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.98.173.114 (talk) 17:59, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It does seem that Light table needs to be redirected here, but I am not certain they are exactly the same thing.--Commander Keane (talk) 07:02, 30 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mini Light Boxes[edit]

As of recent years people are looking towards smaller and smaller light boxes. Your average lightbox can be 2'x 3' in size and easily be 10 lbs in weight.

To make these more transportable, many - especially researchers and scientists are look toward smaller more transportable light boxes with LED technology.

Why does this page even exist? It seems like it's no more than an elaborate disambiguation page. Czetie (talk) 13:06, 6 April 2011 (UTC)czetie[reply]

Agreed. A simple fix would be to rename this page to Lightbox (disambiguation), and rename the page that currently has that name to Lightbox (disambiguation) (disambiguation). 156.34.207.76 (talk) 19:23, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Merge with Lightbox (disambiguation)[edit]

I'm in favor of merging the two pages as this page is little more than a disambiguation page itself. It lists some items that merit their own pages. (I created this discussion section on December 13, 2012, because the merge flag has been in the article for 3 months, but discussion seems spread over the previous topics.)

I vote in favor of merging the articles. Dcs002 (talk) 21:16, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Complex[edit]

I do recognize Dcs002's point. i think what we may need is articles on at least 3 major uses of this term: light tables, light boxes in advertising, and the light box used by photographers. All should of course have a listing at the disambig page. ive categorized some of the images at the Commons as best as i could. the whole thing is a bit of a shambles.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 05:28, 18 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You list "3 major uses" of this term. Another major use is for Light therapy for circadian rhythm sleep disorders, several types of depression and several types of skin disorders.
By the way, I, too, prefer the spelling "light box" rather than "lightbox". --Hordaland (talk) 10:16, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is information here that won't fit on a Disambiguation page, so I've removed the tag for that merge. I believe that this article is needed. (And it needs references!) I've removed some text which was wordy and IMO unnecessary. I've removed the entire section on Light therapy for SAD, other depression, circadian rhythm disorders and skin disorders as it is a big enough topic for its own article (Light therapy).

I believe that Light table should be merged here. (One could rename this article Lightbox and light table, if necessary.)

Proposed merge with LED lightpad[edit]

I don't see anything differentiating these two enough to justify separate articles. Deunanknute (talk) 17:30, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Deunanknute.. if you wait for the article to be finished you will see that they can't be merged ther is a type of lightpad wich manufacturer'sname I can't give for not being acused of advertising.. that HAS A WIFI MONITOR INCLUDED.. AND NO LIGHTBOX EXIST WITH THAT FEATURE...--Mcapdevila (talk) 17:51, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
