Obsolescence[edit]

Resolved
 – Obsolescence of this game is reliably sourceable.

I wouldn't think it accurate to use past-tense verbs like the sport is dead; this sounds decidedly similar to "Cut-Throat", one of my favorite pocket billiards variants. 71.215.229.83 (talk) 05:32, 16 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It can be (and in article text should be) reliably sourced as obsolete (i.e. dead), per Shamos, Mike (1999). The New Illustrated Encyclopedia of Billiards. New York: Lyons Press. ISBN 1-55821-797-5. {{cite book}}: |access-date= requires |url= (help); Check date values in: |accessdate= (help); Unknown parameter |nopp= ignored (|no-pp= suggested) (help) at the "life pool" entry in that book. "Decidedly similar" and "the same" are not, well, the same. The article at Cutthroat (pool) should, however, almost certainly mention this game and link to this article as an obvious forerunner. — SMcCandlish [talk] [cont] ‹(-¿-)› 01:21, 7 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
