Why is the title of this article "Liberty Bay," and not "Dogfish Bay?" I understand that the name Liberty Bay is common usage, but that the official name is Dogfish Bay. If this is correct then I think this page should be moved to "Dogfish Bay" with a redirect for the colloquial name. After all, we wouldn't want the article for Bummertown and it's residents, the Bremelow, to be titled by the common usage.Michael J Swassing 06:02, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As of the 1920s (see Edward Meany's books) Liberty Bay was only the colloquial name, but it was since changed. I'm contacting the Poulsbo Historical society at some point in the near future to find documentation. Given as there is no firm documentation behind the statement posted on the Visit Kitsap Website, and given that it's not properly cited, I think it should be taken down until it is either cited with a credible source. This 1917 Congressional document[1] pretty well documents that the dominate name is "Liberty Bay", also known as Poulsbo Bay and Dogfish Bay.SaltyBoatr get wet 22:24, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
