Untitled[edit]

The article about Lewis Addison Armistead has him being born in Upperville, Virginia. Though he spent almost all of his life in Va, he was born in New Bern, North Carolina--born in the John Wright Stanly House (currently a museum display, open for tours), the home of his mother. Most biographies make note of his North Carolina birth.

Huh?[edit]

This article states: "In Gettysburg, the film version of Shaara's novel The Killer Angels, Armistead was portrayed by actor Richard Jordan who, like Armistead, died shortly thereafter." While cleverly written, this statement is basically nonsense - did Armistead die after the movie was made or did Jordan die in 1863? Was Jordan mortally wounded during the filming like Armistead at the battle or did Armistead die from a brain tumor like Jordan? What a mess...but that's Wiki for you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.51.66.153 (talk) 23:40, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What and have some jerk revert it - sorry, we won't waste our time anymore. What a bunch of idiots. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.243.164.201 (talk) 02:31, 4 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Re-added the info with an according reference ... GELongstreet (talk) 19:50, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Friends"[edit]

Why the coyness? If you're implying their was something homosexual in Armistead's feelings for Hancock, say so -- and justify it. Otherwise, why not just say they were friends. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.95.174.225 (talk) 23:07, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Good point. That edit was part of a previous edit series that I had deleted because it was unsourced, biased and mostly out of place. Seems this one slipped through. Now I accordingly deleted the quotation marks and wrote close friends instead which is both well-known and sourced without any implying rubbish. Therefore solved. ...GELongstreet (talk) 23:19, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
