Doesn't Spirit Level/bubble level deserve to be in Engineering section rather than See also? Surely there are more spirit levels in existence than optical levels Fholson (talk) 18:09, 26 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"Transit Level" should be added to this page. Similar to the antique "Dumpy Level", it is a surveying tool (level). Kamemasta 21:17, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The link to the NuMetal band Level redirects to the definition of level in SQL, and there is no other way to get to the page for the band.

The word level is often used in statistics, applied statistics, biology, measurement theory, and in the R and S programming languages to mean a particular value of a nominal or categorical variable (which is also called an enumeration, enumerated type, or factor in some cases). This use of the word level seems to be quite common and used freely as if any educated reader will understand it, but that understanding of level is not so widespread. The concept of a categorical variable and its values is so useful that it has come to be used in all sorts of different areas, each having its own vocabulary to describe it. It would be nice if all the scattered articles that use these related terms could reference a single article describing the basic concept and terminology (and the Categorical Variables article might be the right place, but it would need to have a section added that talked of the related terminology in other fields).Tedtoal (talk) 17:40, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
