List of works[edit]

Some of the items listed seem quite badly spelt:

  • Sonata "a memorie la Scriabine": I'd have said that was probably à la mémoire de Scriabine
  • Passacalia: Passacaglia? -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 08:08, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Errors?[edit]

The Russian Wikipedia article gives a different birth date and says he lived from 1933 in Nice, being buried there after his death. Someone should check the facts and edit as needed. Languagehat (talk) 00:31, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

But there’s an issue with the Russian article’s birth date. It says he was born 19 September os/2 October ns, 1881. That can’t be. In 1881 the gap between the calendars was only 12 days. 12 days after 19 September is 1 October, not 2 October. 12 days before 2 October is 20 September, not 19 September. -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 08:37, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Very true, but there's still a striking discrepancy between Sept./Oct. and Nov., and it would be nice to know the facts, if they can be verified. Languagehat (talk) 23:29, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I suspect the Russian article is much closer to the mark than ours is in regards to the birthdate, but I'm loath to import that information until we sort out the date conversion issue. -- Jack of Oz ... speak! ... 01:36, 22 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sonata a memorie de Scriabine was written in 1916-17. Also, Chaconna for organ and orchestra definitely have been written before 1924. This is clear from Sabaneev's article on his own music (Pro domo sua, 1924; eng. The Composer-Critic, http=www.jstor.org/stable/726456). Saniasoone (talk) 08:22, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
