Proposals for a name change[edit]

It seems that there is a single barony that straddles the counties of Galway and Clare. The title of this article should reflect this reality. It is misleading for it to refer to a single county only. Also, there is a different barony of the same name in the County of Leitrim to complicate matters. Suggestions? • This is not the only barony that straddles, I can think of Costello (barony) also. But its likely of the few where the barony name has to be disambiguated. My inclination is to leave as is and alternative I can immediately think of is just as problematic or overly complex, e.g.: Leitrim (County Galway/Clare barony); Leitrim (barony straddling Counties Galway & Clare). Perhaps elseone can think of a good alternative? As a side comment I have just tweaked the hatnote as I thought that was useful to do.

I just moved this to Leitrim (Counties Galway and Clare barony). I arrived here because Leitrim (County Clare barony) was flagged as an incorrect name, and lots of pages were linking to that. – wbm1058 (talk) 01:42, 28 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
