Merger proposal[edit]

I suggest Lega Basket be merged with Lega Basket Serie A because of the following reasons:

-It can't establish notability on its own, few (if any) independent sources refer to the Lega Basket without also mentionning the Serie A, the only sources available are likely to be primary sources

-Its only function is to organise the Serie A and related competitions (the Italian Basketball Cup, Italian Basketball Supercup and All-Star Game, all of which only concern Serie A clubs), a section at the Lega Basket Serie A would easily suffice to describe its history and activities.

The article should not be merged. They are two different entities. One is a league, and one is the company that operates the league. It would be like merging FIBA Europe with the EuroBasket.Bluesangrel (talk) 03:31, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose. Now, after addition, we have reliable sources in the article (see references of the article).
Lega Basket is a distinct entity which organizes many competitions. If we will merge "Lega Basket" with "Lega Basket Serie A" then we present the reader that the competition (championship) organizes other competitions. Does not make sense.
Based on the above I suggest the removal of the {{mergeto}} from the articles (Lega Basket and Lega Basket Serie A). --IM-yb (talk) 15:28, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
