Question about wikipedia search term: "Leftwich"[edit]

Action Item: When I search for just "leftwich" this page [1] comes up, but why not ALSO a search result describing the military vessel called the USS Leftwich? Thanks if someone can reply I would really appreciate it! Vid2vid 18:26, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because no one who writes about places in Cheshire know about the USA ship, whose correct reference on wikipedia is USS Leftwich. Now that we do, I'll add a disambig phrase at the top of the article. It has to be done this way because the correct search term for the ship is USS Leftwich, and Leftwich (this article) is correct for the name of this settlement, and they aren't identical. I hope that addresses your concern.  DDStretch  (talk) 20:04, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I don't think I will do it. If I use SEARCH on the term "Leftwich" I do get a listing for the ship, its the third one down on my list. There are also a lot of names as well. In that case, I won't do anything until someone else has commented as adding just one out of many possible may not reflect consensus over what to do.  DDStretch  (talk) 20:08, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
