Only active physician in NFL[edit]

It seems that Duvernay-Tardif was neither an active physician while playing in the NFL (insofar as he had not completed his post-graduate training and is not registered with the Quebec medical board or any other board) and even if he was, he wouldn't have been the only person to play in the NFL after having earned an MD. See Milt McColl. See also Wikipedia's article on Dan Fortmann which clearly states he was practising medicine at "Pittsburgh's Presbyterian Hospital during the 1943 season, flying in on Saturdays to play with the Bears on Sundays."
