Langar as ancient indian tradition[edit]

Langar predates sikhism or sufism, it is recorded in faxien chinese buddhist monk accounts when he made pilgrimage to india and mentions the presence of charity food distribution in hospitals present at that time. These articles need to be merged and adequate historic context should be made. Rameezraja001 (talk) 12:49, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to merge with Langar khana[edit]

Merge Langar khana into Langar (Sufism). The content of Langar khana is actually more of the cauldron (deg) where the food is prepared, and historical references to it. What Langar (Sufism) needs is more content on the deg which is currently a citation needed. Langar (Sufism) and Langar khana have a parent-child relation, both are small articles currently, and the whole of Langar khana can be contained within Langar (Sufism).
