Merge with Coast of Poets or fixing POV article?[edit]

The term "Land of Poets" is too general a praise, meaning that it is applied not solely to Chile. A couple of articles indicate this:

  • [1] Germany called a land of poets.
  • [2] Wales called a land of poets.

The best option is to expand this article (make it less about Chile and more about the general term). Regards.--MarshalN20 Talk 03:27, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'll say no to the new proposal only because germany is referred as "land of poets and thinkers" and wales is "land of poets and kings". By doing a simple google search only chile uses the term "land of poets" and nothing else[3][4][5][6]. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 115.64.13.124 (talk) 12:10, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The macquil.com source cited has a statement on Chile being "a land of poets and wine." So that pretty much throws away your second premise and conclusion (not that it was any good to begin with; e.g., Germany being a land of thinkers does not exclude it from being a land of poets).
There's also this book (Why is Nicaragua Known as the Land of Poets?: A Reference Guide published in 1992) and a poem about Italy (A Dream of Italy by Charles Allen) that begins with "Land of Poets, Italy". The Dublin Penny Journal has an article on "IRELAND—THE LAND OF POETS."
Again, it's because of this that this article is currently in a POV situation.--MarshalN20 Talk 13:05, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
