Distance[edit]

The article uses Wolfram Alpha as the source of 702 light years. However, SIMBAD has this data reflecting a distance of 175 parsecs or 570 light years (easily derived from the parallax of 5.71 mas). Wolfram Alpha doesn't say where it gets it data, but SIMBAD references the Hipparcos catalog. I have therefore changed the distance to that referenced by SIMBAD because I feel the data from Hipparcos is more accurate than some unknown calculation done by WA. Arabic Name[edit]

The statement saying Shaula means "raised" is doubtful. The following is taken from http://constellationsofwords.com/stars/Shaula.html:

Shaula probably is from Al Shaulah, the Sting, where it lies; but, according to the Persian astronomer Al Biruni (973-1048 A.D.), from Mushalah, Raised, referring to the position of the sting ready to strike. Mindfruit (talk) 13:52, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
