Deerbrook[edit]

Deerbrook Mall (not Deerfield), Cadwell Corners, and adjacent shopping areas for a distinct and separate shopping area from Northbrook Court, which is located more than a mile away and separated from them by residential areas.Shsilver (talk) 01:49, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, it's only a half mile away and is part of the same regional retail trade area, meaning stores that are found at Deerbrook and Caldwell Corners are different from--and supplemental to--the Northbrook Court mall. You don't need to mention every shopping center or include every town that touches the retail area (Northbrook, Deerfield, Highland Park, etc.) Northbrook Court is the main hub of the area and is a regional mall and that is why is mentioned. Just like the Shops of Kildeer are supplemental to the Deer Park Town Center, but they are not mentioned because Deer Park is the main mall. Buffalo Grove, on the other hand, is distinct retail trade area and is located over 5 miles from both the Deerfield/Northbrook retail trade area and the Deer Park/Kildeer retail trade area. Confusing signage[edit]

Perhaps note that "Lake Cook Rd. Cook County" appears on the road name signs, as that is the county that maintains it. But users might think the signs mean they are entering Cook County. But the signs are placed on both sides of the road, so half the time such users would be wrong. Good thing Lake County has installed separate "Lake County" signs. Skokie Blvd.[edit]

https://maps.cookcountyil.gov/hwyJurisdiction/ shows the maintenance boundary to be Skokie Blvd. / Skokie Rd., not Skokie Hy. / US 41. Jidanni (talk) 14:35, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
