Untitled[edit]

I wouldn't say Ladue is overwhelmingly conservative. Fundrace.org depicts Ladue as a majority (60-65%) conservative, with a few enormous (25-50K) donors that make the regional map look incredibly conservative. Overall money wise, yes, it is, but population/voter wise?

The country club statement Partially correct. Old Warson Country Club is located in Warson Woods and Bellerive Country Club is located in Town and Country, but Ladue Racket Club and St Louis Country Club are.

-I agree, not even Ladue Racket Club is located in Ladue... But St. Louis Country Club may be. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.230.191.84 (talk) 02:24, 11 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

POV-Check Talk[edit]

There seems to be an extraneous focus on the demographics of Ladue and statistics with regard to the school system. Some subjective language has been removed from the article. I would suggest paring down the school and demographic information to the most relevant, and add balance to the article by discussing municipal history. Otherwise, this article basically sounds like real-estate advertising.

  • Controversies*

The lawsuit against the City of Ladue filed by ex-chief White was added in 2010 (see edit dated 18 April 2010 by 68.164.10.7) and was largely unchanged until its removal in 2012 by History5050 (edit on 20 June 2012). I am not the originator of the 2010 edit, but have restored a more neutral account of the lawsuit, omitting what I perceived to be the 'exceedingly biased' language, and added text and a reference to the dismissal of the lawsuit. Removed the controversy involving ex-mayor Holmes as the case was dismissed. (see http://ladue-frontenac.patch.com/articles/police-chief-larry-white-s-case-against-the-city-of-ladue-is-dismissed). Additionally, the tone and verbiage were exceedingly bias. If whomever posted the original description would like to post something that is more fair and representative of a lawsuit that has now been dismissed than by all means go for it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by History5050 (talkcontribs) 04:26, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

EARLY FAMILIES I'd like to add that my family, the Lu¨dloffs, was among the early families noted in the article. Per our own family members, as well as land records, my great-great grandfather Christoph Luedloff's home and farm (shown on an 1868 map) was on the south side of Ladue Road just west of Dielman, and much of his farm became the St. Louis Country Club. In time, per maps online, his ground extended to Warson and Ladue and, with some breaks here and there, down to Conway. Christoph's grave and that of many other early settlers in my family can be found in the small old church cemetery on the east side of Warson Road between Ladue Road and Olive Blvd. Christoph Luedloff's son Johann Luedloff (John), who is my great-grandfather, had his large farm on the north side of Ladue Road between McKnight and Price Roads, and that is where my grandmother grew up. That house was still there the last I knew. My great-grandmother's Mueller family also farmed on Ladue Road, and so it goes. Lots of early families, many from Germany, England, etc.--Denise Caringer — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.215.124.41 (talk) 05:16, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
