B class review[edit]

@Ljleppan: B class. Here are questions that I wondered about after reading the article. This is B class even if you are not able to address these questions. Djmaschek (talk) 04:24, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

According to the article, he was promoted from colonel to major general. Is there a brigadier general rank in the Finnish Army?
"...his appointment was blocked for political reasons." What political reasons? Was he from a political party that was not in power? Did he have extreme political views?
"...after political pushback to his vision." What specifically was the objection? Money? Jealous rivals? Same as the above?

Thanks for the comments! Regarding brigadier generals, the rank exists in the modern FDF, but I'm not sure whether it did during WW2. The most complete bio I have doesn't mention him ever getting that rank, and I don't recall other similar generals having had it either. Regarding chief-of-defense appointment and the DEPB: this is most likely related to Finlandization and the generally very large influence the 90% Soviet Allied Control Commission had in post-war Finland so I'm assuming "political reasons" boils down to a "the Soviets would not have liked him". But annoyingly, this is not stated explicitly by any of the sources I've found. For DEPB, I was able to find a bit more context which I've included in the article. -Ljleppan (talk) 10:57, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
