" Kubbar " is One Of Kuwait Islands ,It is located at a distance of 30 km from the Al-Zour coast, 40.225 km from Umm Al-Maradem, 29 km far from Failaka, and 40 km to the northwest of Qarawa Island.

In 1949, the government of Kuwait gave oil exploration concession to the American Independent Oil Company (AMINOIL) in the waters and on the land of the island for sixty years.

A solar-powered lighthouse was built there as well as a natural landing field for helicopters. It has many species of rare plants, in addition to some scarce corals. There are low hills in the middle of the island which gradually slope towards sea level.

Its shores are quiet and its sand is soft. Sea gulls and flamingos exist there in great numbers. A compelling reason to select Kubbar as a protected natural environment among the numerous Kuwaiti islands is its unique natural features.

Preliminary measures such as limiting human activities on the island and its coast were implemented to protect the island from pollution, which would threaten its natural life. These measures were taken following the desertion of some rare birds and the disappearance of rare plants from the island.

Tourism will flourish on the island once its natural life is properly protected.
