Merge proposal[edit]

  • Support merge into Kovacs and move that article here (or merge the edit histories, if some admin wants to take that on). Kovacs is the older article, but a majority of the name-holders listed use the accented form. -- JHunterJ 12:14, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support the one without an accent is probably a English bastardization.Cameron Nedland 02:04, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There's a more exhaustive list of cognates in the Kovač article. A kovacs is also a gymnastics skill on the high bar, but I couldn't find a definition so I didn't add it. Here's a robot doing a kovacs.--87.162.26.201 (talk) 14:48, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Other languages[edit]

'Other languages' from this English-language article only links to Hungarian and Japanese. The Hungarian page it links to is the one for the surname: [1] There is a similar disambiguation page in German, Dutch, French, Italian, Polish; these mutually link to each other but not to the English page because they link to another Hungarian disambiguation page with essentially two entries – one for the surname, one for the profession (smith). [2] I suppose the way to fix this missing link is by harmonizing this i.e. let the English article link to the same Hungarian page as the German one, but which one would be appropriate?
