Title[edit]

The German title of this waltz is "Klänge aus der Walachei" (with umlaut "ä"); the word is the plural form of "Klang". I also question whether "Echoes" is the best translation, notwithstanding its apparent widespread use; a more literal translation would be "Sounds from Wallachia".
