Jones is one of only three QBs in CFL history to throw for over 40 TDs in one season.

Who are the other two? Qutezuce 07:24, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The records thrown around are not cited. I did an internet search, and couldn't find much to back them up. I found this site http://www.rauzulusstreet.com/football/cflrecords/cflindrecords2.htm with CFL records supposedly updated through the 2003 season, and Doug Flutie had 48 TD passes in 1994, and 47 in 1997. Flutie was also 3rd with 44 in 1993 (according to the site). Qutezuce, do you have the CFL record book? I might have to order it from the CFL website[1]. Sundevilesq 17:42, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where does it say it up-to-date with the 2003 season? Just looking at the first category, Most 1000+ Pass Receiving Yard Seasons, All-time Regular Season, you can tell it is not up-to-date past 2000 as Terry Vaughn has had 1000 yard seasons every year since 2000 until 2005 (and maybe 2006, we'll see how he does). I've definately read the statement about there being only 3 people to throw 40+ TDs in a season in a reputable source like a newspaper, I don't remember where or when though, but it didn't say who the other 2 were either.
If that site is only up-to-date as of 2000, then that page provides us the answer, Doug Flutie and Peter Liske are the two other people. Qutezuce 22:43, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, here's the direct site to the 2003 reference: http://www.rauzulusstreet.com/football/cflrecords/cflrecords.htm I agree with you - the records don't seem to go past 2000 (despite the claim that the records are up to date through 2003). The definitive reference would be the CFL record book on sale at their site (http://www.cfl.ca). Qutezuce, if you have the book (or can check it out at a local library), please assist (Wiki could also use your help on the Damon Allen page as well). Sundevilesq 01:42, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why the hell wasn't this guy picked up by the NFL? I graduated with him, and (thought I) knew he would be an elite QB for any team. This kind of shit infuriates me! Khari, I still make your burger and curse the idiots that overlooked you. - a dude that still tells tales about how much ass you kicked on the field as well as on the stage. (If I ever find some backers for my movie, I'm hunting your ass down, dude. And no, I'm not fucking gay--I just say "ass" a lot.)—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.85.163.186 (talkcontribs) 03:27, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think the CFL is substandard to the NFL. He had quite a career here in this league, and still does. -- 142.161.66.100 (talk) 00:10, 21 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
