Kewanee[edit]

A non-commital feasibility study would give both school districts a vast amount of information that would be similar to a five or ten-year financial plan from an unbiased third party. Neither district has the employees in the Admin Office to provide that kind of detail (enrollment trends, EAV trends, revenue and expense trends, what the district's funds will look like in five or ten years alone and/or together. After the non-commital feasibility study is done, both districts can review the info with the taxpayers and decide if it warrants further investigation. It does no good to call each other names. We need to do what's best for our kids' education. If consolidation is the answer, so be it.

But name-calling and petty sniping is part of the culture of Kewanee. I find it disturbing that certain people from the community who have notable professions and accomplishments are not listed among notable persons because they are not friends of the people who seem to feel they own this Wikipedia entry about the town. Fortunately, Wikipedia is not a reliable source for much of anything, so any contributions made here can be done by people with no knowledge or authority, but simply time on their hands. If Lynette Nuding and Paul Gerard don't belong on this site, certainly Waler Bailey does...and a few people listed have no business there if Walter Bailey is not included. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TuxGerard (talkcontribs) 14:01, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

high importance[edit]

why is this article Kewanee listed as high importance, when there hasn't been a single thing done to it in months? I think that maybe someone should get to it, because it seems dead. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Iamanadam (talkcontribs) 23:36, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Famous Kewaneans[edit]

Why is there no mention of former US Senator C. Wayland Brooks (1897-1957)? Brooks's official biography says he attended public schools in Kewanee and elsewhere in the area. He is buried in Pleasant View Cemetery. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.212.80.149 (talk) 21:09, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
